cluttered desk, phone light blinks
calls for more, giving more
reports weigh in, deadlines demand
focus forced

stuckness is
choice
but is it, really?
can there be a refusal
this far in?

stuckness is
waiting
waiting
waiting for an aged freedom
the right to sit, quietly, alone
until sitting becomes a new stuckness

a path chosen much too early
